The "techno geeks" page

Technology is an important part of the fire service and luckily we have some members of the department who are technology savvy.  One way we combat the high cost of repairing and maintaining our equipment is to perform these duties in house.  Some of the apparatus such as SCBA's, Pumps, and other devices which affect life safety, cannot and should not be altered or repaired except by certified technicians.  All other minor repairs are performed by our qualified members.

Listen to the action live as it unfolds:

Tune your scanner to 158.745MHz to listen to Rutherford County Fire Net.

You can also find lots of other frequencies for Rutherford County agencies and services here.  We don't typically use "10 Codes" on fire net but if you need a copy of them you can get them here RadioReference.com is another great resource for those of you in scanner land.

CVFD introduces new technology for its members to access data

We are always looking for ways to help our depart more efficiently serve the community. Our technical services staff has recently implemented a program that monitors Fire Net and records the first 60 seconds of every fire call for every district as well as the county Fire Chief and countywide All Calls. It then emails the audio file in mp3 and or AMR formats to email addresses, cellphones, smartphones, and other mobile devices. It also archives all calls so they may be referenced later. A text converter is being investigated too!
