The CVFD Kid's Page
One
of our main focus groups is children. It is paramount that we teach kids
at an early age to respect fire and learn to prevent it. We have
programs in place to provide interactive
training for youngsters. We will provide safety information and
fire prevention strategies to all ages so
contact us for more information.
Our members offer their kids a look into our department
Many of our members have children and we even have
some husband and wife teams on our roster. Many times these
firefighters respond to the scene with children in tow and out of harms
way with some volunteer sitters. Of course the nature and location
of the call dictates if members will allow kids to tag along. We do realize that we must
not expose them to sensitive situations and a healthy balance must be
maintained. Our married members also perform separate duties on a scene
so if one is in harms way, the other is not. Kids are also
encouraged to have fun washing trucks and helping out with other small
tasks.
