We do not charge "Protection Fees"
The
Christiana Volunteer Fire Department has been fielding inquiries in light of
some recent news stories. These stories revealed that some fire departments are
denying fire suppression services to people who do not pay protection fees.
Our department does periodically solicit donations and hold fundraisers to raise operating capitol but we WILL NOT withhold services to anyone in our district because of their personal decision on whether or not to support our department.
We are an all volunteer 501(c) (3) not for profit organization and we rely fully on donations and fundraising efforts. We greatly appreciate any and all financial aid regardless of size. Our department has been serving our community with no strings attached since 1975 and will continue to do so.
We cannot speak for other departments in Rutherford County but no such instances of that tactic have been reported anywhere in this county at any time. Please rest assured that the CVFD will continue to provide unbiased fire prevention, protection, and suppression services to our community and to aid our citizens in any way we can.
We are currently recruiting new members!
If you want to help your community and think you have what it takes to be an emergency responder then you need to apply for membership to our department.. Our firefighters have access to the same training and resources as paid departments and put themselves in the same real danger as paid firefighters. We also have other positions which are not as intense but just as important. To find out more about joining the CVFD check out the Become A Member Page and call, click, or come by. You can get the dates and times on the Calendar Page. Apply today and see how rewarding it can be to help others in times of crisis.
